OUT OF THE DEN – MOUNTAIN LIONS
Believe it or not, this mountain lion and one of her three cubs are listening to three wolves howling just a short distance away on the National Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole. 1999 was the first year wolves were present in Jackson Hole after being exterminated from the area, so this was the first time these mountain lions had ever heard such a noise! I’m quite certain these lions weren’t too excited about their new neighbors. |
